The wildebeest came down for a drink, everyone waited, there were many jeeps. They drank and headed back up to graze, they didn't cross the river. Soon the wildebeest started moving off, grazing. All jeeps left but mine. In my heart, I knew something was going to happen. After about an hour, a lone wildebeest wandered back and down the hill to get a drink. As he waded in, drank and waded further into the river, I glanced up at the hill, and it was lined with wildebeest, zebra and antelope. Just waiting. I held my breath, if he turned and came back, they all would leave. The lone wildebeest waded mid river, stood, looked around for danger, then headed toward the other side. The explosion of cries, calls, and action from that moment on, I will never forget. The wildlife came from all along the cliff, the more that came, the more dust it stirred up, creating a perfect curtain of shadows. I noticed they were jumping a log at one spot. When I aimed my camera, right as I fired, a wildebeest came flying through the dust. It was complete and wonderful chaos for around 25 minutes.
