2023, Namunyak Conservancy, Samburu, Kenya 

I find myself increasingly drawn to photographing wildlife in their natural habitats—moments where behavior, landscape, and light converge in perfect harmony. Namunyak Conservancy in Northern Kenya not only has a raw rugged beauty, but is also a sanctuary for the Reticulated Giraffe—a striking and endangered species I had never encountered before.

On this particular afternoon, everything aligned. The giraffe moved gracefully across the arid landscape, with its striking patterns illuminated in the golden light. Behind it, the majestic Matthews Range, one of the oldest in Africa, loomed in the distance. I saw the potential image and made sure our vehicle was in position to capture the giraffe moving across the frame with the mountains in the background. It was one of those rare moments where light, environment and subjects came together beautifully.
