This image was taken in Kuhmo, Finland

A personal note from the photographer: I’ve been on assignment in Finland to photograph the wildlife of the region of Kuhmo, a wilderness area 2 kilometres from the Finnish-Russian border. Late in the evening, after hours waiting in my hide, I made this image of a European brown bear (Ursus arctos) illuminated by the sun's rays filtering through the trees in the forest walking towards me.

Materials

Paper

All prints are printed on Hahnemühle Natural Line Hemp paper with 290 grams, which uses one of the oldest and most diverse natural fibres in the world. The paper is made of 60% hemp fibre, 40% cotton, and has a white smooth surface texture.

It's without a doubt one of the most sustainably sourced papers in the world.

This year we're offering framed prints for the first time! The frames come in white, black or oak finishing.

Quadrum picture frames are made in Germany from FSC®-certified wood (license code: FSC® C021405). The wood comes from sustainably managed forests that meet the criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council.

The frames are equipped with edge-ground float glass, an acid-free insert and a sturdy rear panel.

The rear panels are equipped with hangers in portrait and landscape format

The Oak frames are solid wood from FSC®-certified sources with an Oak veneer.
