This image was taken in Onaqui, Utah, USA

A personal note from the photographer: "Powerful, iconic and resilient. Standing their ground. Wild horses thrive in raw places no human would call home. They exemplify the salt of the earth, shaped by desert winds and woven into the fabric of our history and our lands. This image was captured in their natural environment in their home territory, the Onaqui HMA(herd management area)in Utah, USA. Watching them from below an embankment, waiting patiently to see if the scene in my mind was to unfold or fade. Unfold it did. Unearthing the ground with pounding hooves and letting the dust fly, as these two stallions discussed the order of things in the wild. Freedom and family is the lifeline to a wild horse, an existence that currently faces serious threats from special interest. It will forever be up to us, from these days forward, to protect our wildlife and the wild lands they roam on everywhere."
