This image was taken in the Bahamas
A personal note from the photographer: "It was our last day of shooting in the Bahamas in 2019, and we had not yet had the opportunity to photograph hammerhead sharks. We noticed as we were snorkeling over a shallow sand bank, that an inquisitive yet apprehensive hammerhead had been cruising back and forth not far from where we were swimming. I had thought about taking a split shot above the water both to create a unique arrangement and to give the shark more room. I decided, however, to cast the shark against the backdrop of the dark, endless ocean. This simple composition displays the mystery of the sea while also illustrating the peaceful and solitary nature of these misunderstood creatures."
